my name is james depper and this is my website, i'm a freelance illustrator/ animator. i was born on march 14th 1982 and was educated at several establishments, culminating (so far!) at wolverhampton university (england) where i did an illustration degree and thanks to tutors who seemed to care more about my success than i did at the time i got a few pictures printed in computer arts and digit magazine.

since finishing university i have been following my peculiar, occasionally wandering muse to mixed success. illustration wise i have been working on self initiated projects, stationary for the masons and advertising for used cars. animation wise i have bizarrely been more successful, coming 8th in the 2006 E Stings competition and getting commissioned to produce more for E4 music.

i do pretty much everything with photoshop and my hands and a camera and a scanner, but i also use flash and if i must, illustrator. i just prefer the varied finishes i can get with photoshop. its more like 'real' drawing. i'm not really influenced by other illustration, more by the surreal in general, the films of stanley kubrick and alfred hitchcock, old horror films, music, cheapness, reeves and mortimer and stuff i see in the corner of my eye that makes me look twice.

please commission me, i've run out of bread and can't grow crops.
